"Brian Duff is an artist, writer and musician who has lived and worked primarily in Indianapolis since 1999. A veteran of the April Show, a yearly event held in a home on the city's near-east side he kept a long collaboration with A/V Framing Galley.
Returning to oils in these works- works which have brought the term "Flemish" to mind- he has returned not only to oils but the sense of quiet momentum that he enjoys.
He suffers from and actually takes pride in his mental illness, Schizoaffective disorder. Despite how the illness may help some aspects of the work, it interferes as well. In this collection of work he says that the idea of flood, with just flowers surviving as the water recedes is a metaphor for lost time and recovery- a slow ebbing out which increasingly reveals healing."
