HONOLULU - July 8, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday, July 13th, 2013 at 8 PM, guitarist Eric Kristian will be recognized at the Top 20 Pioneering Musicians of Hawaii, an event honoring twenty rising local musicians who are pioneering innovation within Hawaii's music and arts community. When asked about his view on music, Eric Kristian, an upcoming talent says, “Songs are like little fireflies, each song shining a light, illuminating our life’s journey, letting us see and understand the world around us”. A Lahaina boy, Eric graduated from the historic Lahainaluna High School in 1995 and after turning 18 years old, found himself immersed in Hawaiian and Pop music. He smiles when he reflects back to performing all over the world from Japan, China, the Continental US and here at home for the Pro Bowl. One of the many proud moments in Eric’s career was being able to perform for a Hurricane Katrina fundraiser. “Growing up in Hawaii, you learn to help others even if you don’t know them and I was honored that I could be part of helping the Hurricane Katrina victims.”

Join public relations firm Lawrence Blake Group Int'l in recognizing twenty rising local musicians and DJ's who are pioneering innovation within Hawaii's music and arts community. The Top 20 Pioneering Musicians of Hawaii event will feature live music performances from artists who have gone above and beyond their call of duty to uplift and encourage younger local artists, while still developing their own talent. A special keynote speech, creative collaborations, and delicious cocktails and cuisine help make the Top 20 Pioneering Musicians of Hawaii event one not to be missed. The Top Pioneering Musicians of Hawaii event is proud to benefit arts education for at-risk Hawaii youth through the remarkable efforts of Afterschool ART Hawaii (www.AfterschoolARTHawaii.org). Roster of recognized musicians, speakers, and special guests available at http://Music.LawrenceBlake.com.

“Music is the breath that sustains my soul. Through my music, I want to share my experiences and love for Hawaii, a place I call home; a place my two girls call home” says Erik Kristian.

Afterschool ART was founded by Dr. Bob Grossmann in 2004, after having the opportunity to be briefed by staff from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other public health agencies, when he served as a Fellow for then Secretary of Health, Donna Shalala (1995-1996). He has found that youth respond to programs that bring quality art supplies and professional artists to where the youth-at-risk live and learn.
