LOS ANGELES - July 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Tackling what can be all consuming for those both blessed and challenged with fame Valery Satterwhite, Founder of FameMentor.com (http://www.FameMentor.com), has recently written a four-part series entitled, “Phases of Fame” to help those to whom it applies as well as those who love them.  Each installment of the series approaches the integral phases and prescriptions so necessary to first face them, and then master them.  “The phases include Love/Hate, Dependency, Acceptance/Adaption and Empowerment.” said Satterwhite.  “Ideally there will be a publicly uneventful journey through all phases. Some celebrities get stuck in one stage never able to realize their full opportunity and potential.”

The first phase, Love/Hate, speaks to the literal high felt at the onset of fame that can quickly turn volatile as the object of everyone’s affection realizes they can never live up to the hype otherwise known as the public persona.  “It’s very difficult at this point for the star to not to feel like an impostor or to be plagued with the idea that it’s only a matter of time before they will disappoint the image.” added Satterwhite.  In the blog the author underscores the fact that if one navigates themselves through the Love/Hate phase next comes the Addiction phase.

The second blog post in the series highlights the Addiction phase or “fame dependency.”  Satterwhite said of the phase, “Some stars actually become addicted to celebrity.  It literally becomes difficult to imagine themselves living without their fame.”  Said to be highly addictive, fame is described on the site as a high validation narcotic from which some never recover.  If they do manage to keep fame in perspective they may venture into the third phase known as Acceptance.

Satterwhite suggests that acceptance is key when it comes to survival.  Part of coming to terms with acceptance is realizing one’s own personal responsibility and their powerful influence over their fans.  Satterwhite encourages the famous to leverage their humanity and “become an example of positive change.”  This leads readers to Satterwhite’s fourth phase of Empowerment whereby she writes, “...celebrity can turn a cause into a household name.”  She highlights the good Jon Bon Jovi has done with his Soul Foundation as well as what Johnny Carson did with the John W. Carson Foundation to support children, schools and the environment.  She sums up the four-part series with, “The life you lead is the legacy you leave – beyond any award, performance, credit or title.”

Valery Satterwhite is an advisor and consultant to high-profile individuals via FameMentor.com as well as personalized appointments.  She is an author of two published books, a CO-host of a radio show “50 Shades of Fame and Fortune”, and a renowned speaker.
