Actress Ciera Payton Teaches and Inspires New Orleans Youth

LOS ANGELES - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- "Days of Our Lives" fans may know her as "Officer Martine Kent", others as Effie in Nora Roberts' "Midnight Bayou", as Keisha Murphy in "The Closer" or as "Cassandra" in USA Network's popular series "Graceland", but for the Summer of 2013, New Orleans youth will remember her as their Media Arts instructor, dedicated to helping them to outline and fine tune their stories, ensuring they deliver a cohesive and clear message.  

Actress Ciera Payton, a New Orleans native and graduate of The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), although currently residing in Los Angeles, CA, is joining forces with the New Orleans based 2-Cent Entertainment.  

Partnering with New Orleans' Job 1 and Nola-For-Life, the focus of 2-Cent Entertainment, in addition to "flipping the public view/opinion" of black youth in main stream media, is using the 2013 Summer Camp to bring awareness and solutions to issues facing youth in New Orleans' communities.  Payton is teaching the students all of the "in front of the camera" elements.  The students have been challenged to create short movies, culminating into a presentation of their work with a screening at the office of New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
