"Inseparable Companions" Art Exhibit Opens in Brighton

An exhibit of artwork by Allston artist Christine Winship that capture the unique physical and emotional characteristics of her animal subjects and their exquisite expressions. A portion of all sales will go to the Gifford Cat Shelter in Brighton.

BRIGHTON, Mass. - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Unbound Visual Arts, Inc (http://www.unboundvisualarts.org)., the new non-profit incorporated to enliven the creative economy, is sponsoring Christine Winship: Inseparable Companionsat the Athan’s Café Art Gallery in Brighton. It’s a solo exhibition of artwork by Allston artist Christine Winship. Christine, the Pedigree Artist, has been specializing in pet and animal portraits for the past eight years.  Her artworks create as sense of joy and happiness as she captures the unique physical and emotional characteristics of her animal subjects as a well as their exquisite expressions. Viewers are drawn to these inseparable companions as they remind them of the own pets or pets that were once an important part of their lives.  Christine’s placement of her loyal companions in realistic landscapes and other recognizable settings help achieve her objective to inspire joy.  A public wine and hors d’ oeuvres reception is Sunday July 28th from 7-8:30 pm. A portion of all sales will be donated to the Gifford Cat Shelter in Brighton. The Gifford Cat Shelter is a cageless, no-kill facility founded in 1884 and sponsored by Ellen Gifford.

The shelter is a pioneer in creating an environment that does not confine cats to small, movement-restricting cages.  The exhibition runs through August 31, 2013 and is open everyday from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm |Athan’s Café Art Gallery, 407 Washington St., Brighton Center, MA.| MBTA: Buses 57, 65, 86, 501, 503.

Christine Winship is a founding member of Unbound Visual Arts and is a member of the Allston Arts District Open Studios. She studied art at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC and received her BFA in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston. Christine frequently donates gift certificates for custom paintings to animal shelters and rescue organizations in order to raise funds for those worthy causes. She has shown her work throughout New England in both solo and group shows.  Most recently, she exhibited her work in solo exhibits at the Faneuil Library Art Gallery and the Great Falls Discovery Center in Turners Falls, MA.  She was part of the group exhibits at the Riverside Gallery in Cambridge and at Boston City Hall. She is also an active member of New England Arts for Animals.
