Craig High School is Relocating - Expanding Opportunities and Experiences for CHS Students

New Amenity Filled Location address is: Craig High School 310 Lathrop Avenue Boonton, NJ 07005

July 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Craig High School students will enjoy a brand new high school location and an enhanced student experience when the next school year rolls around this September.

“This is a very exciting time for the Craig School,” said Craig School Board President Christopher Coates. “The move to a new location for the Craig High School is part of our continuing effort to create the best educational experience for our students. We will be able to offer expanded programmatic opportunities; increased integration as students migrate from the Craig Middle School to Craig High School; and access to a fantastic facility—all part of an effort to better prepare our students for college and life.”

While the school’s location has changed what hasn’t changed is the individualized program, strategic approaches, and current assistive technologies used to maximize each student’s learning potential into achievement.

“This move allows Craig High School to continue to provide our individualized, strategy based program while additionally providing greater facility resources and more diverse course offerings,” shared Dr. Eric M. Caparulo, Head of the Craig School. “It provides our students with a more extensive collection of extra-curricular offerings as well as elective based courses. This move allows CHS to maintain the essence of a small independent school while expanding our program through greater resources and opportunities. All of this while furthering our mission of preparing our students for success after high school.  “

Craig High School is a comprehensive high school program that specializes in educating students with Learning Disabilities.  Their program acknowledges the NJ Core Curriculum Standards and meets all NJ graduation requirements.  In addition to their academic program, CHS also provides a Self Program, an individualized program that guides students in self-awareness, self-acceptance, and ultimately the ability to self-advocate.  The Self Program begins with Freshman Foundations which focuses on self and group dynamics as well as aptitudes and learning styles.  Sophomore year they are immersed in career awareness.  Junior year they are active participants in their post-secondary explorations and senior year they wrap up with the College Experience and preparing for life after high school.

This is the time to start planning for a successful new school year with a high school program that is designed and individualized for the success of your teen both during high school and beyond.  For more information about the program or enrollment information for the upcoming school year please call our admissions office at (973)334-1295 or visit our website at www.craigschool.org for more detailed information about our curriculum, approaches, and programs.
