July 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Music lovers are spoiled for choice in the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba this autumn, with two major international festivals planned.

And it’s an eclectic choice with the entertainment ranging from jazz to electronic music.

George Benson heads a star-studded line-up for the seventh annual Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival, being staged in Aruba on October 4 and 5. The Grammy award-winner will be joined by Willy Garcia from Colombia, America’s Jose James and the Groovehunters of Curacao, with additional performers to be announced.

The festival will be staged at the Renaissance Festival Plaza, with one indoor stage at the convention centre, plus two outdoor stages. Tickets are available at US$35 per night from www.caribbeanseajazz.com until July 31, after which they will cost $US50.

Meanwhile, Aruba is again the international focus from September 6 to 8 with the world’s largest electronic music event.

The island has been chosen as the setting for the inaugural Electric Festival, reflecting Aruba’s role in furthering the electric dance movement in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

Electric Festival – a combination of conference, public entertainment, as well as studio sessions, workshops and exhibitions for DJs, producers, artists and fans – is now planned as an annual event and the largest of its kind. And it will be more than just a dance music event by encompassing creative arts, cuisine and lifestyle.

For those in the know, a leading figure in the event will be Aruba’s own world-renowned music producer and DJ, Chuckie, who made his name in Amsterdam and who has performed at some of the world’s leading electronic music festivals. Other big names of the genre and appearing in Aruba include former Guns n’ Roses guitarist Slash and DJ Mag’s Top 100-rated DJ, Hardwell.

A competition to win a travel package to Electric Festival is available at http://electricfestival.com/win/ and tickets are also available for purchase, with one-day passes at US$50.

Note to editors: The Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba lies 15 miles north of the South American coastline, benefitting from year-round sunshine, an average temperature of 32 degrees and a cooling breeze. Located on the edge of the hurricane belt, with a nine mile stretch of award-winning pristine beach, turquoise seas, colonial Dutch architecture and a Latin vibe; Aruba is a delightful alternative Caribbean experience. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines operates to Aruba five times a week, with departures from 16 UK airports via its international hub at Amsterdam Schiphol. Thomson Airways will operate weekly charter departures from London Gatwick from May to October. Leading tour operators offering packages to Aruba include Thomson Holidays, First Choice, Kuoni, Tropical Sky and Kenwood Travel.
