The 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine is capable of 305 hp and 269 lb-ft. of torque while the 5.7L Hemi V8 puts out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft. of torque. Both engines are mated to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. Other features in place to increase fuel efficiency will be the class-exclusive air suspension and best-in-class aerodynamics with a coefficient of drag at a minimum of 0.360. The air suspension provides improved ride control, off-road capacity, and vehicle entry/exit. When hauling large cargo, the air suspension is also equipped with automatic load leveling so that weight is distributed evenly and performance is not compromised. For the first time on a full-size Ram truck, a front park assist system will be implemented. This system uses integrated sensors located within the front bumper in order to alert the driver of objects up to 1199 mm in front of the vehicle. Audible alerts and readouts in the cluster display will tell you how far you are from an object and if you’re getting too close. The 2014 Ram 1500 will arrive in showrooms across the country in the fourth quarter of this year. Until then, Knight Dodge has a host of current-model Ram 1500’s available for purchase.
