Compass Financial Sponsors Guardian Hands Foundation “Walk Against Rare Diseases”

MIAMI - July 31, 2013 - PRLog -- Over 30 million Americans are affected by Rare Diseases.  Their lives are forever changed.  Some look different. Many act different because they cannot do things we take for granted.

The Guardian Hands Foundation, a non-profit with the mission of raising awareness of Rare Diseases, created the “Walk Against Rare Diseases”.  This inaugural event was designed to increase understanding and eliminate the stigma of Rare Diseases.  The Foundation was formed last year by Grace Loeb, whose son has a rare disease.

Compass Financial Federal Credit Union (http://compassffcu.org) joined with Mayor Yioset De La Cruz and the City of Hialeah Gardens as key sponsors of the Walk which was held at Westland Gardens Park in the City of Hialeah Gardens.  With hundreds of people walking and many more participating in the day’s activities, the inaugural walk was a major success.
