Manhattan Graphics Center Printmaking Classes Fall 2013

Our 35th season of printmaking classes in Intaglio, Silkscreen, Lithography, Relief Printing, Photogravure, Monoprint, Collagraph and Engraving.

Arnold Brook
has printed at many of NYC print shops, including

Solo Press, John Nichols Publishers, and Derriere L’Etoile. His work

is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, Appalachian State Art

Department, the Miami Art Museum, and Florida Center for the Arts.

Robin Dintiman works in sculpture, printmaking, drawing,

and collage. Her work has been exhibited in venues throughout

the country, and is included in the permanent collections of the

Philadelphia Art Museum, the National Museum for Women in the

Arts, the Little Rock Art Museum, and the Chrysler Museum.

Takuji Hamanaka, a printmaker and painter, trained as a traditional

Japanese woodblock printer. He has worked in studios in Japan and

the US, and has taught at NYC’s Center for Book Arts and at the

Connecticut Graphic Arts Center.

Vijay Kumar has shown his drawings, prints, and paintings in

the U.S. and abroad. He has worked extensively in printmaking

techniques, and his prints are included in the collections of the New

York Public Library, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the

Brooklyn Museum, among others.

Judy Mensch is a printmaker who has shown her work throughout

the US and abroad. She has taught printmaking at Marymount

Manhattan College, The College of New Jersey, Southwestern

University, the Lower East Side Printshop, and Prints in Progress.

Her prints are in the collection of Pfizer, Inc., the New York Public

Library, the New York Historical Society, the Library of Congress, and

West Chester State College, among others. She has been awarded

residencies to Yaddo, the Ucross Foundation, and Centrum voor

Grafiek Frans Masereel and a grant in Japanese woodblock printing

by Art Quest, Nagasawa Art Park Pilot Project, Awajishima, Japan.

Frederick Mershimer’s prints are in the collections of the Whitney

Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Fogg Museum, the Corcoran

Gallery, the Smithsonian Institution, and many others. A catalogue

raisonné of his mezzotints, spanning the years 1984 through 2006

was published in 2007.

Margaret Nussbaum is a silkscreen printer, lithographer, and

painter. She has exhibited her work in group shows throughout New

York State, most recently in a two-person show at the Garrison Art

Center. She is a founding member of MGC.

David Thomas is a ceramist, painter and printmaker. His work has

been exhibited in the U.S., India, and Japan, and is included in the

collections of the Library of Congress, Anheuser-Busch and a number

of private collections in the U.S., Europe, and Japan.

Anton Würth is a printmaker, painter and book artist who resides

in Germany. He has had recent one-person shows at the Museum

for Applied Art, Frankfurt; Gutenberg Museum, Mainz; Klingspor

Museum, Offenbach; and the C.G. Boerner galleries in both New York

and Düsseldorf. His work is widely collected and is included, among

others, in the collections of Yale University, MOMA, The New York

Public Library, Brooklyn Museum of Art, British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum.
