By: LadyLake Music "Free-range, organic music, straight to your computer, no artificial colours or flavours". Battfest - The Virtual Festival - is the littlest festival with the biggest audience - the most inclusive exclusive event of the year. It's a 3 day feast of the cream of the UK indie music scene - coming soon to a computer near you - from August 9th until August 11th streaming around the world. On the ground, the fest takes place in a particularly gorgeous southerly corner of the English countryside. There's a cast of about 150 people including all the musicians, crew and technical whizzes. There's also a very lucky, pampered audience, a bit like Kimberley Festival but more exclusive like the Old Grey Whistle Test or Later With Jools Holland. Battfest is all about getting top-quality independent music to the eyes and ears of the masses - making use of the plethora of new ways to reach people without having to sell out to a big corporation. It's about giving a voice to little people by getting everyone to shout the same message out at the same time; uniting indie media and creating a network that, like people in China all jumping at once, can rock the world. Over the Battfest weekend, an eclectic mix of the best indie music is streamed out via a huge, ever-growing network of indie TV and radio to millions of ears and eyes - as the artists intended. This is not the X Factor. This is not MTV. This is the antidote - the alternative underground - all working together to bring you real, untampered-with, undiluted talent. There's a strong acoustic flavour to the line-up which features a wealth of singer-songwriters and some terrific bands including Isla, Birdeatsbaby, The Moth Lantern, Eleanore & The Lost, Nucleus Roots, Kassassin Street and Fragile Creatures. There will be interviews in between acts and magic and comedy from The Great Alprendo. Wherever you are, if you have an internet connection, you can watch FREE - from the comfort of your sofa, your yacht, your hospital bed - from a blanket tent in the front room - it's all filmed up close so you feel like you're right there with us watching all these great acts play. No wellies required. www.battfest.com Broadcasting times: Friday 9th: 7pm-1am Saturday 10th: 3pm - 1am, Sunday 11th: 3pm - 11pm See www.battfest.com and www.facebook.com/ Very limited tickets available here: http://www.skiddle.com/ End
