SWINDON, U.K. - Aug. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- SWINDON Silicon Systems Ltd, a leading global provider of mixed signal ASICs, is helping to train the next generation of engineers. The Swindon based company that designs application specific integrated circuits – the tiny “brains” that control electronic devices like mobile phones, SatNavs and hearing aids – is providing summer placements for two undergraduate engineers. The young engineers will gain valuable experience working on real projects in a high tech environment.

Robyn Moates, who is reading Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Cambridge, had placements in 2011 and 2012 with automotive electronics company Schrader, where she was talent spotted and referred to sister company SWINDON. She will spend three months working on a development project with Technical Director, Clive Bunney.

With an improbable name for the wireless world of ASICs, Tom Cable is no stranger to SWINDON. Tom is about to start the final year of his MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bristol, sponsored by SWINDON, having spent last year as an affiliate student at Seattle University. He was placed with SWINDON through the UK Electronic Skills Foundation Scholarship programme in 2012 and is returning for an eight week placement.
