New King Graduate School Master’s Program Boosts Upward Mobility in Hospitality

BRONX, N.Y. - Aug. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- The King Graduate School at Monroe College is pleased to announce the Master of Science program in Executive Leadership in Hospitality Management that will give students a leg up in management careers in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries. Beginning in August, 2013, students will enter an accelerated, one-year program that prepares them for leadership positions in hotels and resorts, convention services, strategic development for tourism boards, international tourism development, real estate development projects and business ownership. It’s also an excellent opportunity for students who may be looking to change their careers from the hospitality industry to academia.

“Hospitality professionals who want to move their careers forward will love this program,” said Dr. Michael Marinaccio, Dean of the King Graduate School. “They’ll see the results in a short period of time. They’ll get their degree in twelve months and, as with all our programs, graduate with a real world education that will enable them to enjoy a broader range of career options.”

Conducted primarily online so that working professionals have the opportunity to take advantage of the program, the M.S. program in Executive Leadership in Hospitality Management will include two-week residencies at the beginning and end of the program. These sessions will allow participants to build relationships and share issues they are currently facing in industry and at the same time experience real world situations first-hand that will enhance their studies.

Because the program is based just outside New York City, students will have the benefit of learning in a fast-paced, complex environment, which is what makes it an invaluable training environment.

“As travel and hospitality have become prominent industries across the globe, an increasing number of professionals in upper management are choosing to advance their education,” Dr. Marinaccio said.

To be admitted, applicants should have three to five years of hospitality experience. Hospitality educators are also encouraged to apply. To enroll in the Summer, 2013 cohort, applications are due by June 30. International applicants are encouraged to apply at least three months before the start date.
