Dark World International artist TechnoKy double debut released to China first

BANTRY, Ireland - Aug. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- Techno artist TechnoKy has digitally released 'darkworld - day mixes' and 'darkworld - night mixes' in China on Wa3.cn - prior to release on iTunes. A bold and innovative move for TechnoKy and the indie group Dark World International, both artist and label stand by the decision.

 

"For me, it was a no-brainer," states Kylyra, sole artist and driving force behind TechnoKy. "Sales of my solo music in China have already outstripped my sales in the rest of the world, despite the fact I've only recently been available in China through Dark World International's contract with Wa3. It's obvious to me that China's my market." Dark World International agrees with Kylyra, with insiders pointing to recent world economic conditions and China's vast and largely untapped audience as proof of their decision. "And TechnoKy is the perfect choice to go to China first," declares Kylyra. "It's pure vintage techno with no singing of any kind, so language is not a barrier."

 

TechnoKy's sound is based in the classic Roland MC-303 Groovebox. The original groovebox for dance/techno DJs, the MC-303 still has a lot to offer. "It's a versatile machine," declares Kylyra. "But a lot of DJs jumped on the sample bandwagon, and just bought new equipment every time they wanted a new sound. I didn't want to do that. I wanted to explore the sounds in the 303, and record them in a brand new way." Final production methods for 'darkworld - day mixes' and 'darkworld - night mixes' are kept secret between Kylyra and her producers, J.A.B. (day mixes) and Spike Bourne (night mixes). "Let's just say I took the 303 right to the edge of its capability - and mine, at the time," states Kylyra. "Bobbie [Kylyra's nickname for her MC-303] and I still have some tricks up our sleeves."

 

The double debut, 'darkworld - day mixes' and 'darkworld - night mixes' was created based on the mazes (Mythos 3000) in the Dark World International website, www.darkworld.com. Both releases include a full, hour long DJ set that flawlessly flows from one song to the next as well as two bonus tracks, different on each release and unavailable anywhere else. 'Day mixes', produced by J.A.B. (DJ Dream Quest's producer), is the lighter choice and perfect for iTunes, iPods, iPads, iPhones, and MP3 players. 'Night mixes', produced by Spike Bourne (Doctor When's producer), is heavier and made for a system with sub-bass. Both are excellent purchases for techno/dance fans.
