KOLKATA, India - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- It was addressed by Mr. Vinay Mishra, Country HR Head, IXIA Technologies, Mr. Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, Zonal HR Manager, Mahindra Finance and Mr. Biswanath Sarangi, former VP, Adhunik Group. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Aloke Kr. Sen, Director, HBS. “The country is not doing well. The economy is moving to a declining stage where dollar prices are increasing, inflation is cut-throat and gold prices are exorbitant. More than 3000 B-schools are there with 3 lac MBAs passing out every year. Only 22000 managerial jobs are available and in such a situation how future MBAs will get their employment? The only mantra in this case is performance which will drive a prospective MBA aspirant to the brim of success in this corporate world,” said Dr. Aloke Kr. Sen during the panel discussion to address the challenges which are present in the current scenario for prospective managers.

Mr. Vinay Mishra during his address to the future managers said that from today onwards each and every student should get a mentor from the industry. “Today’s industry wants people who are open to learning, ready to adopt in any circumstance, ready to respect, analyze a problem and be a good team player. It is said in a study that 85% of the work force leave because of their managers,” said Mr. Mishra. On the other hand Mr. Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya motivated the students with different case studies and example which stressed on the fact that only innovative minds can survive in the competitive world finding the right bread and butter. He gave the example of radical innovation and incremental innovation which Godrej refrigerators have done in the rural market to gain their market share. Also Pepsi formed an instance among his examples.

Mr. Biswanth Sarangi also addressed the students on the different qualities which the industry looks for while selecting the best talents during campus recruitments in a B-school. From his vast experience Mr. Sarangi cited some examples which gave practical insights to the students.

The programme was also contributed by Training and Placement Head of HBS, Mr. R.A.Swaminathan along with Ms. Kirti Dutta, Deputy Training and Placement Manager and other senior officials. More than 100 students participated in this programme which was a great learning for them.
