Modular Assembly Innovations Modular Assembly Innovations (MAI), a Keco Design Group client since 2011, is an automotive parts manufacturer. Based in Dublin, OH, MAI owns Great Lakes Assemblies in East Liberty, Ohio, Gulf Shore Assemblies in Lincoln, AL and Indiana Assemblies in Greensburg, IN. MAI acquired the majority ownership interest in the three companies in December 2010. MAI’s appearance on the 2013 BE Industrial 100 was the second time the company made the list. This second appearance is especially notable as MAI’s $1.07 Billion in revenue represents nearly a 100% increase over the prior year. Billy R. Vickers, president and CEO of the company, is the owner of MAI. Tolston Holdings Tolston Holdings, a Keco Design Group client since 2012, is a supplier of automotive parts. Based in Timmonsville, SC, the company owns Empire Products, a Rochester Hills, MI company and North American Assemblies, a Timmonsville, SC company. Empire Products was founded in 1999. North American Assemblies, founded in 2003, was acquired by Tolston Holdings in 2012. James R. Tolston, III, is the president and CEO of Tolston Holdings. TAG Holdings TAG Holdings of Wixon, MI, a Keco Design Group client since 2003, was the previous owner of the companies now owned by MAI. TAG is also the previous owner of North American Assemblies, now a Tolston Holdings company. TAG, a supplier of mechanical parts to the aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment and defense industries, owns Wolverine Assemblies of Wixom, MI, Shared Vision of Warren, MI and Barton Manufacturing of Decatur, IL. TAG’s 2013 appearance on the BE Industrial 100 list is its 11th consecutive appearance on the list and the 12th appearance by Joseph B. Anderson, Jr., the chairman and CEO of TAG. A company that Anderson sold in 2002 made the BE Industrial 100 in 2000. TAG Holdings was founded in 2001. Over the years the company has acquired eight companies and founded one. The company has divested its interest in six companies.
