San Antonio’s largest celebration of Mexico’s Independence to feature “The One” boxing match

SAN ANTONIO - Sept. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- San Antonio - For 32 years the Avenida Guadalupe Association (Avenida) has hosted the Diez y Seis de Septiembre Festivities, a day long festival complete with a parade, drill team competitions, food vendors and live performances.  This year the Plaza Guadalupe prepares to anchor a multi-foot projection screen, space for vendors and a VIP area.

This annual celebration of Mexico’s Independence attains to be bigger and better than ever.

In a press conference on September 5^th Avenida President Oscar Ramirez was joined by Texas Congressman Lloyd Doggett and representatives of San Antonio Councilwoman Shirley Gonzales to announce Univision Deportes, sports anchor, Lindsay Casinelli as the 2013 #16deSeptiembre Parade & Festival Grand Marshall.

In the parade, community groups and city officials march along a food and vendor booth lined Guadalupe Avenue; every year more than 10,000 attendees gather on Guadalupe Avenue to experience and remember traditional Mexican culture.
