Hamilton Jewelers creates prestigious Liberty Medal presented to Hillary Clinton

PALM BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Princeton, NJ, September 9, 2013: Hamilton Jewelers is proud to announce their 4^th year as the creator of the internationally renowned Liberty Medal.  Established in 1988 to commemorate the bicentennial of the U.S. Constitution, the Liberty Medal is awarded annually to men and women of courage and conviction who strive to secure the blessings of liberty to people around the globe. The medal was first administered by the National Constitution Center in 2006, when Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton were honored for their bipartisan humanitarian efforts on behalf of the victims of the tsunami in Southeast Asia and the hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. This week, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton was presented the award in recognition of her lifelong career in public service and her ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of women and girls around the globe.

Secretary Clinton received the prestigious award during the 25th annual Liberty Medal ceremony on the National Constitution Center’s front lawn in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The live event was hosted by ABC News Anchor and Correspondent Elizabeth Vargas and included a stellar combination of 50 performers including a performance from The Bright Hope Baptist Community Singers of Philadelphia and the Princeton Girlchoir.

“The Liberty Medal recognizes individuals who have furthered the ideals of freedom, democracy, and equality, often against great odds,” said National Constitution Center President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen. “Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for ‘We the People’ not just in this country but around the globe.”

Since 2010, Hamilton Jewelers has made the Liberty Medal in their Philadelphia-based manufacturing facility, one of several operated by the family-owned and operated firm, headquartered in Princeton, NJ.
