SARTONK Releases New WBA Super Champion Belt

UNION CITY, N.J. - Sept. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- SARTONK is proud to announce the release of the brand new WBA Super Champion Belt, a special belt commissioned for an elite class of battle-tested WBA World Champions. The belt will appropriately debut during the upcoming Mayweather v. Canelo fight, on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, televised by Showtime.    The victor of this landmark mega-fight will be the first to receive the signature WBA crown, shielded by two distinctive but fierce lions. One lion illustrates power and defense, while the other conveys dignity and character. “The duality of the lions represents the Super Champion: this is someone who defends his title unflinchingly, while commanding a noble air -- someone who, we hope, is also of strong character,” expresses Edward S. Majian, SARTONK’s President and the belt’s lead designer.    Using a signature combination of textured and mirror-finished surfaces, SARTONK has created a sculptural center plate that highlights the fine contours of the lions’ anatomy. Burgundy velvet, a classic feature of the WBA crown, is incorporated between the lions’ limbs, creating complexity and contrast. “We’re very proud of this design,” admits Majian. “We hope fight fans, in addition to the fighters themselves, embrace it as another worthy advance in boxing craftsmanship and devotional art.”    Following its debut under the lights of the MGM Grand on the 14th, the WBA’s newest commissioned piece will gradually adorn the WBA’s current roster of Super Champions.
