Reversing Secularism: A Strategy for Christian Communities

The human condition is burdened with the pain of conflict and loss. The divine message is that the Giver of every good thing appeared as a human being and sacrificed himself for all human beings. This message is itself the greatest gift to humanity – good news.

As society moves toward secular materialism and scientism, the knowledge of divine love increasingly fades. The Christian community now has an opportunity to turn humanity back to the divine by giving comfort and guidance to the suffering and lost.

Christian counseling offered to the community is a way to reverse the growing secularism that leaves only emptiness and despair in its wake. Natural explanations of the universe leave a moral void and lack of meaning and purpose. The result is increasing mental distress: depression, addiction, and family breakdown.

Basic counseling skills can equip Christians with the tools to provide the support and guidance needed to heal the pain and show the way sought by people in the community who no longer know about the Creator of all things.
