Silver The Reel Cowboys Celebrity Silver Spur Awards

Sept. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- On September 27, 2013, at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio
City, California, the Reel Cowboys, a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization preserving and advocating the history and appreciation of Western Film and Television, are honoring cowboys and veterans at the 16th Annual Celebrity Silver Spur Awards Fundraiser benefiting MVAT (Veterans) Foundation.

Founded in 2007, the 501 (C)(3) non-profit MVAT Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness and funds for military and veteran support groups. As an Air Force veteran and cowboy, Robert Lanthier, the President of The Reel Cowboys proudly states, “The Reel Cowboys and our western entertainment enthusiasts are grateful and honored to all of our veterans who have served our country with unwavering dedication. This is the reason we have chosen MVAT Foundation to be our beneficiary.”

The celebrity Silver Spur Award honorees include Connie Stevens, Jon Voight, Robert Wagner, Louis Gossett Jr., Andrew Prine, Chuck Hicks and Ewing ‘Lucky’ Brown. The Silver Spur Award Master of Ceremonies is Tommy Cook and presenters are Earl Holliman, Mickey Jones, Bob Minor, Mike Connors and Lee Diebold. Trini Lopez will be singing along with other top entertainers. The evening will include dinner, a silent and live auction, music and will be
filmed for Western TV.

In 1997, The Reel Cowboys Organization was born and now comprises over 100
entertainment industry members such as famous actors, directors, producers, stunt and film professionals who all appreciate the legacy and the future of Western Film and Television.
