Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Chicago Gourmet 2013, presented by Bon Appetit, is coming to Millennium Park (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/attractions/122-chicago-points-of-interest-millennium-park-guide.html) as one of Chicago’s last outdoor food festivals of the year. This celebration of fine dining brings some of the city’s best chefs and restaurants, as well as wine and other spirit connoisseurs, into one location for the public to experience. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 27 to Sunday, September 29 and costs $173 per person per day, or $289 for the weekend. A Grand Cru wine tasting ticket is also for sale for the weekend for $217.

The festival starts with a kick off event on the evening of the 27 called the Hamburger Hop. A collection of local chefs will take over the Harris Theater Rooftop (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-theater/1797-dir-harris-theater-for-music-and-dance.html) to battle for best-hamburger honors. A panel of judges will be present to crown the winner, but the event’s spectators will also get a chance to try the gourmet burgers themselves and cast votes that will determine the winner of the “People’s Choice” award. Immediately following the Hamburger Hop will be Late Night Gourmet. Attendees of Late Night Gourmet will be treated to cocktails, food, and music alongside the contestants and judges from the hamburger competition. The Hamburger hop costs $115, while Late Night Gourmet is $50, or $150 for both events.

The main event of Gourmet Chicago 2013 takes place September 28 and 29, in Millennium Park. The Gourmet Chicago 2013 schedule (http://www.illinoisrestaurants.org/associations/2039/chic...) is packed full of visionary chefs and industry experts, giving live cooking demonstrations, talks and seminars, and of course, plenty of tastings. From The Ancient Art of Japanese Cooking with Takashi Yagihashi of Takashi and Slurping Turtle, to The Preservation Kitchen, a seminar on pickling and preserving by Paul Virant, chef-owner of Perrenial Virant and Vie, the stars of the Chicago culinary scene will be out in full-force. Attendees will have more than enough options to create their own culinary adventure.

Tickets to all Chicago Gourmet 2013 (http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2552641018) events can be purchased online.
