Follow on Google News | Do Division Holiday Fest Returns for To Chicago’s Division Street This December 2013Chicagoans will once again have the chance to get some of their holiday shopping done in the winter wonderland of local small businesses and fun activities that is Do Division.
Sales and promotions vary between stores, but there will be festival wide discount cards available for purchase, the proceeds of which will go to assist area schools and charities. Additionally, certain businesses are donating up to 10% of their profits to a charity of the customers’ choice. There are a variety of activities other than shopping that are part of the festival as well. Carolers and other forms of live music, for example, will be set up at various places throughout the event. Children will have a chance to take part in snowman building and wreath decorating, while mom and dad can enjoy a bit of relaxation at one of the local spas. The family could even receive a new addition at Do Division, by way of the dog adoption service being offered by the Doggy Style pet salon. Shoppers need not go hungry either, thanks to the variety of food options that will be present. The restaurants and bars along the street will feature special holiday menus and that’s in addition to the food service offered by the festival itself, which will include spots to grab roasted chestnuts, hot cocoa, warm wine, and hot toddies. A number of shops will also be providing wine and festive “bites” to visitors. Finally, Do Division describes itself as the most interconnected holiday shopping event in Chicago, and does so with good reason. Complimentary shuttles will run to and from the event to Michigan Avenue and another nearby holiday shopping event, the Renegade Craft Fair (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/ Get more great ideas for things to do in Chicago (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/ End
