Alpha to Debut New UPS Fiber Power Series at FTTH Expo

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Sept. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Worldwide power solutions leader, Alpha Technologies, announces the debut of its FlexPoint™ Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) product family at FTTH Expo in Tampa, FL. The FlexPoint products are telecom-grade power systems providing 8W to 50W of 12Vdc uninterruptible power for critical FTTH applications.

“The new FlexPoint UPS family includes the FP1208-F, FP1215 and FP1232, which will address the full range of Single Family Unit (SFU) powering needs from 8W to 32W for both GPON and RFoG applications,” said Director of Product Management, Jose Medina. “The 50W FP1250 will complement our existing FlexNet Multiple Dwelling Unit (MDU) and Business powering products covering 50W to 300W applications.”

All FlexPoint models are compatible with 5Ah to 12Ah batteries and provide enhanced surge protection up to 6kV. Each UPS system is equipped with onboard microprocessor-based firmware to maximize battery life and system reliability. User interfaces include visual status indicators, audible alarm, startup button and a multi-function silence button.

“The FlexPoint family offers an advanced, temperature-compensated battery charging algorithm to optimize battery backup time and service life,” said Medina. “The unique design accommodates batteries from 5Ah to 12Ah so operators aren’t required to buy different UPS models when additional backup time is needed.”

The Tampa Convention Center will host FTTH Expo from Sept. 30 – Oct. 2. The event includes a three-day program of FTTH learning sessions including presentations, workshops, keynote addresses, and industry panel discussions covering technology, deployment and business operations. Event officials expect more than 2,000 attendees from around the world.
