Seven free business coaching places offered for creative industries across Somerset

Sept. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Somerset based company, New Leaf Life Design is offering seven creative industries the opportunity to sign up for a business programme that has already successfully improved the businesses of 20 people within this sector over the last two years.

The programme, part funded by a grant from Somerset County Council and supported by Somerset Business Agency, offers participants the chance to take part in coaching and workshops which will help them market and promote their businesses more effectively, using modern media and approaches that will also help them plan for greater success.

They are looking to recruit seven visual artists who are sole traders or small businesses to come on board with the programme.  Priority will be given to applicants who have not benefitted from training and business development initiatives previously offered for the creative sector in Somerset.

“Somerset has a vibrant and growing artistic and creative sector. Somerset Arts Week and local arts festivals such as the 10 Parishes in Wiveliscombe offer the opportunities for artists, writers, photographers, film-makers and the myriad of other creative businesses or individuals to showcase their work.

“However, many creative people lack support to increase their confidence in business development and marketing and many do not have the time or expertise necessary to take advantage of new ways to bring their work to the attention of a wider public.

“It was against this backdrop that New Leaf Life Design developed the Creative Economy Business Coaching programme; recognising both the need within the community and the potential it has to contribute to the Somerset economy,” said Becky Wright of New Leaf Life Design who are taking a lead on this.

Other companies contributing their time to match fund the project are: White Knight Marketing Ltd, Cuckoo Designs and Word Gets Around, Deborah Durrant and New Leaf Life Design.
