XYIENCE Brings UFC Fighter Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy to 2013 NACS Show in Atlanta

A longtime XYIENCE team athlete, Hardy is a huge fan favorite in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). He will sign autographs on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14 from noon to 3 p.m.

About Dan Hardy
A Nottingham, England native, Dan Hardy began studying Tae Kwon Do at the age of six and earned his first-degree black belt.  With 14 years of traditional martial arts training, the charismatic Hardy decided to cross-train in other styles including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he earned his purple belt under famed athlete and coach Eddie Bravo.

In 2002, Hardy re-focused his training in order to pursue a career in MMA. After two years of intense training, including a trip to China to train with the Shaolin monks, Hardy made his professional debut in 2004 in the welterweight division. Since then he has held numerous titles including the Cage Warriors Welterweight World Title, Cage Warriors Light Welterweight Title and is the UK Storm British Champion.

Over the next several years, Hardy competed professionally in the US, Europe and Japan. He dominated the circuit with many different organizations but it wasn’t until 2008 when Hardy says all of his hard work paid off and he signed a contract with the UFC. Victorious in his first three UFC matches, the rising star quickly earned a spot among the top 10 fighters in the welterweight division. Hardy earned the distinction as the first British fighter to challenge for a UFC title in his 2010 match against George St. Pierre.

Best known for his high energy and devastating striking abilities inside the cage, it’s his pursuits outside the octagon that have recently earned Hardy much deserved recognition. In addition to his love of classic cars, art, drawing, video games and hardcore and punk music, Hardy is also a vocal animal welfare activist. In 2012, the East Lake Pet Orphanage honored Hardy as the recipient of its  “Kramer Award” in recognition of his courageous stance against recreational hunting and his fostering of homeless cats.
