Candidate for GA House District 166 Joins Sapelo Insurance

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Oct. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Martin Sullivan, Jr. has joined Sapelo Insurance, a division of the Sullivan Group, as a licensed property and casualty insurance agent. He is the third generation to join the Sullivan family business.

As a graduate of Hamden-Sydney College with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Sullivan went to Atlanta to begin working on Gary Black’s grassroots campaign for Georgia Agricultural Commissioner.  He then served as a Special Assistant to the elected Commissioner and moved up to the position of Senior Advisor to Agricultural for Policy and Outreach, where he worked with legislators and local elected officials on legislative policy and constituent issues.

Sullivan’s prior work in the non-profit arena for America’s Second Harvest allowed him to launch new food pantries and soup kitchens in 21 Georgia coastal counties. His leadership contributions also helped to expand childhood hunger programs in order to feed 200 underserved children.

Sullivan plans on staying active in politics, by serving his community while running for the Georgia State House, District 166.  He is actively involved in many local civic organizations, including the St. Andrew’s Society, the Colonial Wars Society, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
