Osage Apps Makes Available Native Applications Platforms for Towns, Small Business

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. - Oct. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Market research conducted by Osage Apps found that many small to medium size towns (15,000 and below) are in need of having their own mobile app for locals and tourists.

“You can find lots of apps for large American cities like New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles, but very few mobile apps are available for small and rural communities,” said Bill Rentfrow, Director of Research and Development.

Quick viewing screens
The platform is designed from the ground up for speed.  Going from one screen or page to another is virtually instant, and it is a snap to navigate even from venue to venue.

Off Line Information
Most of the data/information contained in this platform is available off line.  There are certain features that require either internet or mobile phone service, but the majority of the data is accessible anywhere, anytime.

Intuitive
Navigating any web site in this day and age is getting to be a slow,   onerous task.  “With this platform we go with a logical flow and stay away from the complicated clutter web sites (and most applications!) tend to have,” Rentfrow said.  “We want the user to have as much information instantly at their fingertips without having to spend all their time going from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’ only to find out they’re using the wrong alphabet,” he said.  Access to web sites from the app is included, but this does not require the user to leave the app.

Adaptable
“We have built this platform using “soft” coding, enabling us to adapt the platform to venues other than just travel or information,” said Rentfrow. For example, a small business or several small businesses may like to have a mobile application with just their own information.  “With the design of this platform, we are able to input their data and information, and customize an application just for their specific needs,” he said.

GPS Location Services
When location services are enabled on the mobile device, the location of the user is always displayed on the map.  The user will always know where they are in relation to the point they desire to go to.  Another feature that is popular that customers want is the “Find My Car” feature.

“Yes, there are apps out there for just this purpose but the user has this feature on our app so there is no need to go from one app to another,” Rentfrow said.

Social Sites
Most businesses have social sites.  As with web sites, almost all social sites require the user to go from program to program, stopping to reload data, and then go back to another site.  All this requires a good bit of time and jumping around on the internet.   “Our app does not require the user to leave the app to visit any included social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., and we have included a ‘button’ for the link to these sites,” Rentfrow said.  To get back into the app all a user has to do is hit the ‘back’ button and the user can easily access the data on the app without the hassle of downloading information from individual web sites or social sites.

Promotions
Not only are promotions good for businesses, users like to know what and where the best deals are.  Osage Apps has included a ‘button’ called “Promos” that businesses may use to promote specials for their individual businesses.  This interactive feature allows each business up to 10 entries for specials and promotions.  With the design of the app customers will be able to easily upload the promotions on a regular basis and have a notification and/or alert sent to the user to know a new promotion for the business is under way.  There will be a charge for a business to activate this “Promo” button and the alerts.

Call Button
No dialing is necessary to reach any phone number.  Simply go to the item of interest and touch the ‘Call’ button.  The user is taken out of the app for this feature because of the different data plans and charges cell phones have.

Flexibility
As a small business, changes, additions and modifications to this app are possible.  “We will be adding more features as we go, and we will listen to our user base to improve as we go,” Rentfrow said.
