September’s Nurse of the Month winner is Ellen Pruitt, RN, who works in Ft. Pierce, Fla. Jonni Bouchard, who nominated Ellen, said, “Ellen has dedicated her nursing career to serving the medically fragile children of Ft. Pierce. She fights to obtain the best medical care for the children. Ellen arranges holiday parties for the children and for her staff. The children's needs are vast, yet she never stops to find a way to make their little lives better. She had a dream of a local pediatric hospice facility, and through her advocacy, pediatric hospice is now available for the children and families of Ft. Pierce.”
