Breast Cancer Org celebrates survivors & fights to end health care disparities with 2nd annual event

NEW YORK - Oct. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- New York, NEW YORK—Following the momentum from last year’s inaugural success and continuing to lay the groundwork of this innovative foundation, Kicked It In Heels is set deliver its 2nd Annual Breast Cancer fundraiser led by its dynamic founder Radiation Oncologist, Janna Andrews, M.D. and her board with newly added board members Keeba Williams Henry, Stanley Batien, and Dr. Liz Yung. Kicked It in Heels is a nonprofit organization with a mission to further the end of health care disparities in breast cancer by focusing on breast cancer survivors, specifically women of color and young women, providing basic information on screening and survivors’ experiences as they transition.  Held during Breast Cancer Awareness month, this second annual Kicked It In Heels fundraiser will take place on Thursday October 24, 2013 and will recognize breast cancer survivor, Zoraida Sambolin, CNN correspondent of Early Start, for sharing her experience about her diagnoses, process, and the recovery of her fight against breast cancer. Sambolin exemplifies everything that Kicked It In Heels exhibits, by using your own voice to open up and have an honest dialogue about the choices breast cancer survivors have to make along the journey.

This ticketed, invitation-only affair is adding more sparkle, glam, and beauty to its already stellar lineup this year. Kicked It In Heels’ organizers have worked diligently to guarantee a sexy and sophisticated evening with influential nonprofit and brand involvement such as Latina Media Ventures, Myx Fusions Moscato who will start the evening off with a Myx n Mingle reception, and Magnolia Bakery who will be providing an interactive icing table for guests to enjoy. Keeping in line with the sexy format, Kicked It In Heels as brought on the spicy, sweet and seductive Ultra premium vodka brand, FOU-DRÉ as an official liquor sponsor.   Along with the attendance of breast cancer survivors and women battling this treacherous disease, invited guest include individuals from professions including but not limited to medicine, fitness and wellness, fashion and beauty, media, finance and entertainment. Guests will be treated to the opportunity of getting to rock to the sounds of esteemed Disc Jockey, Selwyn Hinds and enjoy the ambiance at the Inc. Lounge within the Time Hotel NYC.  All proceeds raised during the 2013 Kicked It In Heels event will support their mission. Kicked It In Heels was founded in 2012 and had its first inaugural gala last year; we raised money for the American Cancer Society and Young Survival Coalition.
