Post Golden Crisp Signs on as Official Cereal Sponsor for #TBOX2013

CHICAGO - Oct. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- Post Golden Crisp Cereal has officially signed on with Festa Parties as the Official Cereal Sponsor for the TBOX 2013 event!  TBOX is an acronym for Twelve Bars Of Xmas, which has become the World’s Most Spectacular Pub Crawl, with the 18th Annual Edition scheduled for Saturday, December 14th, 2013, from 8am to 8pm, in the Wrigleyville Neighborhood of Lakeview, Chicago. “We’re absolutely thrilled to have this delicious, nutritious cereal from a great American brand on board with this beloved, festive event,” said TBOX Founder Christopher Festa. “Cereal has been an integral part of the TBOX experience since Day 1 back in 1996, and we’re excited to have this great corporate sponsor on board to spread the tastiness to our masses!”

Post will be supporting the TBOX event in a number of ways, including providing over 2,000 boxes of cereal for TBOX participants and for the famed “Cereal Shots” at participating TBOX Venues; Post will provide Golden Crisp as well as the Official Cereal for not just all of TBOX, but for the TBOX Opening Ceremonies; and valuable Golden Crisp Coupons will be distributed to all registered TBOX Participants. Also, the Official Golden Crisp Mascot, Sugar Bear, will be On-Site on December 14 to do product sampling and photo opportunities with the festive crowd.

What’s with the Cereal, You Ask? Festa Parties has an entire section on their web site devoted to the story of the cereal, the history of the cereal, and the entire cult of cereal that has blossomed around the Twelve Bars of Xmas Pub Crawl Event. To make a long story short, Christopher Festa began taking cereal along on pub crawls as a way to have something to snack on and maintain energy and a full stomach during the long treks. This evolved into having TBOX participants do “Cereal Shots”, in which cereal is “poured into your mouth as you lean your head back.. like a non-alcoholic version of the old upside-down margaritas popular in the 70s”, which has now evolved into a 12-hour bonanza of cereal as edible confetti everywhere along the TBOX route. “What has also serendipitously worked out,” said Festa, “is that the event now begins at 8am, which is breakfast time, and it’s a lot easier to and neater to have cereal than say, eggs and sausage!”

Another bit of great serendipity is that Festa Parties has donated over 1,200 boxes of cereal to Lakeview Pantry, and is holding TBOX2013 as a Benefit Fundraiser for the pantry. Each month this year, Festa has hosted a Cereal Donation party, where guests who donate boxes of product are given Festa swag items and gift certificates as thank you’s for donating. Festa commented, “It’s great to be helping the community, getting this support from Post Golden Crisp, and seeing our whole world cereal world come full circle!”
