Rutherford Woman Accepts $1.9 Million for Brain Injuries Sustained in Car Crash

MORRISTOWN, N.J. - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Essex County – On October 7, 2013, the New Jersey Law Journal published an article under its “Suits & Deals” section entitled, “Essex Co. Suit Over Brain Injuries in Car Crash Settles for $1.9M.” According to the victim’s attorney Scott Leonard, his client cannot return to her job as a chemist because of her brain injuries from the collision.

The Rutherford woman accepted a $1.9 million settlement in her suit alleging brain and other injuries that were caused by a traffic accident she was involved in, Trikalsaransukh v. Statewide Striping.

On October 19, 2009, Lina Trikalsaransukh was travelling on the Garden State Parkway in Bloomfield when her vehicle was struck from behind by a pickup truck in a rear-end collision. The impact of the crash caused her car to leave the roadway and hit a tree, says her attorney, Scott Leonard of Morristown’s Leonard & Leonard.

The pickup truck was owned by Statewide Striping Corp. of Parsippany and at the time of the accident it was driven by an employee who denied liability for the accident. Trikalsaransukh suffered a traumatic brain injury, memory loss, concentration problems, as well as disc and pelvic fractures which required surgery. Trikalsaransukh, a former chemist and now 64-years-old, is not capable of returning to work.

The case against Statewide Striping Corp. settled on July 10 for $1.9 million after being mediated by retired Superior Court Judge Mark Epstein. Lina Trikalsaransukh was represented by her attorney, Scott Leonard.
