Eye Centers of Florida welcomes Dr. Quentin B. Allen

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Eye Centers of Florida welcomes Quentin B. Allen, M.D., a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, to its Fort Myers main clinic located at 4101 Evans Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33901, with appointments in South Naples, Lehigh Acres, Immokalee, and Port Charlotte locations. He specializes in cataract and refractive surgery, laser vision correction, and medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. He has relocated to Fort Myers and will be available to see patients by appointment beginning Monday, October 21.

Dr. Allen holds a Doctor of Medicine from Duke University in Durham, NC and a Bachelor of Science from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where he graduated with honors. He completed his clinical internship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL and his ophthalmology residency at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Following his residency, he was an attending physician at Cleveland Clinic Florida in Ft. Lauderdale before moving to Peoria, IL and joining Illinois Eye Center. While there, he also taught ophthalmology as an assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Dr. Allen is licensed to practice in Florida and Illinois and was one of the first ophthalmologists in South Florida to be certified by Alcon in its ReSTOR® Multifocal Intraocular Lens implant procedure.His professional memberships include American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, The Cornea Society, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and the Lee County Medical Society. He is affiliated with the Lee Memorial Health System and is fluent in both Spanish and English.
