Madeira Extends Multiple Thread Lines for Fall 2013

Cotona 50-Weight Quilting Thread--- Available in 1,100-yard (1,000-meter) spools:

The new Cotona is a 50-weight quilting thread made of long staple, double-mercerized Egyptian cotton. Mercerization is a technique used to strengthen and shine thread—double-mercerization gives Cotona added durability. In testing, Madeira officials found the new Cotona thread was stronger than the leading brand of 50 weight quilting thread.

This thread is durable, colorfast, and virtually lint free. Thanks to a special treatment process, Cotona No. 50 is a soft, smooth, lubricated thread. Users will be happy to get a cleaner, “less fuzzy” finish on projects.

Madeira Cotona No. 50 is available in 120 colors including 16 variegated shades. The colors match other Madeira thread so projects using more than one thread type will have a uniform look. Madeira Cotona No. 50 is ideal for home sewing and quilting machines and is a smart choice for piecing, appliqué, quilting and lace.

Extended Metallic Thread Line – 42 New Colors:

Madeira Metallic Thread is perfect for decorative stitching and embroidery. Today there are 100 colors of Madeira Metallic Thread. A revolutionary manufacturing process bonds a shimmery foil wrap to a thread core to create a sturdy metallic thread. This ensures it runs smoothly on high-speed machines.  It’s ideal for home décor and holiday projects.

New Rayon 18-Spool Gift Boxes—Available in Baby, Autumn, or Christmas

Themed thread boxes set embroiderers up for the specific type of projects they plan to create.
