Minnetonka Rotary Club Raises over $18K for Charities with Golf Fundraiser

MINNEAPOLIS - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The Rotary Club of Minnetonka raised over $18,000 for local charities at its annual charity golf outing Sept. 21 at Glen Lake Golf Course.

Featuring an executive nine-hole tournament, a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, a beer tasting from a select group of local craft brewers, including Excelsior Brewing Co. and Lucid Brewing, a silent auction and raffle, the annual tournament is the club’s premiere fundraising event.

“We’re really grateful to Sempris for its participation in the tournament over the past several years,” said 2013 fundraising chair Ann M. Wengronowitz. “The television raffle is becoming a perennial favorite,” Wengronowitz said of the 40-inch Sony LED HDTV that Sempris donated.

“The Minnetonka Rotary Club does great things for our community,” Sempris chairman, president and CEO George S. Richards said, “and we are gratified to have been able to contribute to the success of the event, both this year and in years past.”

Proceeds from the charity golf outing support the local and international community, including ICA Food Shelf, high school scholarships, International Youth Exchange, mentoring and reading programs in Hopkins elementary schools, and much more.
