Broadway and TV Child Star Kara Oates To Sing on the GingerNewYork TV Show, NYC

NEW YORK - Oct. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Kara Oates: is a young professional actress living and working in New York City. Originally from Indiana, she is quite a long way from home. Kara Oates began performing at the age of two and spent many years as a competitive dancer. Often winning awards such as "Broadway Baby" and "Broadway Bound," Ms. Oates hoped to one day perform on Broadway. And for the past three years, she has done just that. Currently, you can find her performing as "Jane Banks" in Disney's, "Mary Poppins".

In 2009, she was performing the title role of "Annie" in her hometown's equity theatre, when she was approached by another actor who told her she should come to New York City if she ever wanted to perform more seriously. Two months later, she traveled to New York City, auditioned and was cast in her first Broadway musical, "Billy Elliot".  Kara performed as "Keeley Gibson" in "Billy Elliot" on Broadway 634 times before being cast in 2011 as "Jane Banks" in Disney's, "Mary Poppins". In 2012, Kara was nominated for a Young Artists Award for Best Young Actress in Live Theatre. In addition to performing at the New Amsterdam Theatre, Ms. Oates has also has appeared on "30 Rock", "The Chew", "The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" and voiced the theme song for Dora the Explorer. http://www.karaoates.com
