New photo gallery of The Royal Winter Fair horse show

TORONTO - Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- The Royal Winter Fair an annual event held in Toronto, Ontario Canada has been running since 1922.  A long standing fair in the heart of the city held each year at the Exhibition stadium.  This week long show includes some amazing equine events.  Kicking off the first weekend is the Royal Horse Show Evening Performance.  This event showcases the excitement and professional ridership within the horse community.

Photographing such an event presents a number of challenges.  Held in the Ricoh Coliseum this dimly light building is less than ideal for a photographer.  Capturing high speed sporting events with low light conditions is the biggest challenge fast for photographer David Reid of DR Photos (http://www.drphotos.ca).  Overcoming this is a skill developed over years of photographing equine events.  The fast paced action in horse jumping happens in a blink of the eye.  Knowing where to position yourself with respect to lighting and jumping is essential during this or any other event.  Riders turn and jump in extremely short distances leaving few options for taking great photos.

Other events held during The Royal Winter Fair in the Ricoh Coliseum are the Ontario Toyota Rodeo.  This is again another fast paced event that is always a crowd pleaser.  Most years the master of ceremonies for this event is actress Amber Marshall of the hit T.V. show Heartland on the CBC.  Held on the Sunday of the first weekend fans and spectators are sure to enjoy this amazing event.
