Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County launches Adopt-a-Family for the 2013 Holiday Season

Local businesses and individuals support Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County kids and families

MONTEREY, Calif. - Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Seaside, CA – October 24, 2013 -  Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County (BGCMC) launches their annual Adopt-a-Family program.  Each year during the holiday season, BGCMC chooses the Club Members and families that will be a part of Adopt-a-Family program.  This year, over 120 families have been selected from the Seaside and Salinas Clubhouses as well as from extension sites at La Paz and El Sausal Middle Schools.

Over the years, there has been overwhelming response from the community to participate in bringing holiday joy to families who need it most.  BGCMC invites local individuals and businesses in the community to participate either by shopping to purchase the needed items for the families or by donating funds toward the Adopt-a-Family Holiday Fund.

Those interested in adopting a family are provided with a list of much needed clothing for the children as well as a wish list of items to purchase for all the children in the family.  The gifts are then dropped off at the Seaside Clubhouse by December 9th to be wrapped by volunteers and given to the families in time for the holidays.

Supporters can also volunteer to help wrap presents at the Seaside Clubhouse. In 2013, over 3,500 presents were given to families over the holiday season.

For more information about Adopt-a-Family call 831-394-5171 and ask for the Adopt-a-Family Coordinator.
