The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Won the 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge

The capability of the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel was displayed this year during the Canadian Truck King Challenge, as it was awarded the overall winner of the competition.

The 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge took place in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario and London, Ontario. All light-duty trucks competed at Kawartha Lakes while all heavy-duty trucks engaged in a series of challenges in London. This tough, multi-day event rigorously tested today’s top pickup trucks on the market through a series of head-to-head exercises.

In the “Trucks Under $45,000” category, the 2014 Ram 1500 (http://www.jacksondodge.ca/models/2014-ram-1500/) equipped with the award-winning Pentastar V6 gasoline engine (305 hp and 269 lb-ft) took the top spot. In the “Trucks Over $45,000” category, the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and Ram 1500 outfitted with the 5.7L Hemi V8 took first and second place respectively. The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel is the first light-duty full-size truck to deliver efficient, durable diesel performance. Capable of taking on heavy-duty jobs, the 5.7L Hemi V8 puts out 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.

The 2014 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty took the gold in the 3/4-ton Heavy Duty truck category, which was powered by the 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel engine. With a 370 hp rating and an intimidating 800 lb-ft torque rating, the 2014 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty passed the towing and heavy payload portions of the Canadian Truck King Challenge with flying colors.
