Nov. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Jackson Dodge, a Medicine Hat, AB Jeep dealer (http://www.jacksondodge.ca/new-inventory/#_Make=jeep&action=im_get_results&perform=get_results&paged=1&_vehicleType%5B%5D=New&orderby=_Price&order=ASC), has announced to their customers that the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee has been named a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. The new Jeep Cherokee is outfitted with a host of new safety features, some of which have never been featured in a Chrysler Group vehicle before. One such amenity is the all-new Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist system.

When the 2014 Jeep Cherokee’s turn signal is activated, this system uses ultrasonic sensors to scan for available parking spaces that will accurately accommodate the size and shape of the new Cherokee. When parking begins, all the driver needs to do is control the brake, accelerator, and transmission shifter. The Cherokee takes care of the steering angle and will assist with parallel parking or backing into a perpendicular parking spot.

Another Chrysler Group first is the available Adaptive Cruise Control Plus system. Using both radar and video sensors on the front of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee (http://www.jacksondodge.ca/models/2014-jeep-cherokee/), a preset distance is established between the Cherokee and the vehicle in front of it. Up to four different following distances can be selected while ACC monitors the throttle and can apply up to 25% of the Cherokee’s braking power in order to maintain the preset distance. In low-speed driving conditions, the adaptive cruise control system can actually bring the vehicle to a complete stop.

The available Forward Collision Warning and Mitigation system addresses changes in traffic gaps when adaptive cruise control is not in use. If the radar and video sensors detect a fast-approaching obstacle in front of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, this system pre-fills the brakes for an even quicker braking response from the driver along with audible and visual warnings. If the driver does not respond fast enough, Advanced Brake Assist will deploy to apply the brakes automatically.

The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is expected to make an appearance on the Jackson Dodge showroom floor very soon. For more information about the new Jeep Cherokee, those interested can contact the Jackson Dodge sales team (http://www.jacksondodge.ca/contact-us/) at (866) 615-6841 or visit the dealership at 1500 Strachan Road in Medicine Hat.
