Follow on Google News | Compete at the 2014 World Ballet Competition OPEN in RomaniaRegistration is now open for dancers to enroll in the popular World Ballet Competition OPEN held in Sibiu, Romania in March 2014.
Dancers, ages 9-26, are eligible to compete this March in various dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern, and neoclassical. Dancers have the opportunity to win a large cash prize of $3,000 US Dollars and may be eligible to advance to the WBC USA held in Orlando, Florida. As the oldest city in Romania, Sibiu offers historic landmarks, rich culture, and a pedestrian-friendly city layout; offering a picturesque partnership to host the World Ballet Competition OPEN. Vasile Petrutiu, Founder of the World Ballet Competition and also a native Romanian who grew up in Cluj says "We are pleased to once again host the WBC OPEN in Sibiu. The city has been very welcoming to our participants and gave us great compliments on our previous events. We are excited to bring back more talented competitors to the city!" Last year’s WBC OPEN included dancers of Serbia, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Greece, South Korea, and the United States of America. The top prize, the “WBC OPEN Excellence Award” and $3,000 US Dollars was divided amongst six dancers: Amyra Cristina Badro (Romania), Leanne Fromm (USA), Cosmin Marinescu (Romania), Risa Mochizuki (Japan), Irina Georgiana Tarau (Romania), and Takahiro Tsubo (Japan).
