Little’s Chauffeur Drive Exclusive Macnab Experience

Nov. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Little’s Chauffeur Drive was delighted to be featured in a recent edition of the prestigious County Life magazine when they transported editor Mark Hedges, whilst he took part in a modern day Macnab experience. This exhilarating challenge is based around the famous novel ‘John Macnab’ where three high flying men, a barrister, a cabinet minister and a banker, are suffering from boredom. They concoct a plan to cure it and inform three Scottish estates that they will poach from each two stags and a salmon in a given time. The cost of their success will be £50 to a worthwhile charity, whereas the price of failure is the ruin of their public reputations! Little’s Chauffeur Drive is working in partnership with The Caledonian, part of the Waldorf Astoria collection, and River & Green, to deliver a unique experience in which guests can take part in this competitive Scottish Sporting contest.

Throughout this three day journey the aim is to catch a salmon, shoot a brace of grouse and stalk a Red Deer in the heart of the Scotland’s breath-taking countryside.

This exclusive package includes a 4 night stay at the Caledonian, with Little’s Chauffeur Drive transporting you throughout the arduous challengein one of their luxurious chauffeur driven cars. Day one takes you to the Scottish Borders for the opportunity to catch salmon in the almighty River Tweed, known as the most prolific Salmon River in Europe. You will be greeted by a local ghillie and guided throughout your experience. If you are successful in catching a wild Scottish salmon, this will be taken back to The Caledonian and prepared for evening dinner in a private dining room.

On day two the Macnab experience comprises of a private chauffeur driven journey to the Southern Highlands where you will be met by an experienced gamekeeper. Treading through the glorious Scottish landscapes, there will be the opportunity to stalk a Red Deer stag. Once successful in gralloching the deer you will be chauffeur driven back to The Caledonian and served an exquisite dinner in The Pompadour by Galvin restaurant.

The final day completes the last leg of this trial and encompasses shooting a brace of grouse. Your Little’s chauffeur for the Macnab experience will take you out to the high heather moors of the Lammermuir Hills situated in the heart of the Scottish Borders. The expert gamekeeper will provide the shotgun with which you will flush the grouse and seize its brace. Bringing the trip to a close you will return to The Caledonian to celebrate your triumphs with a well-deserved dram or two in Peacock Alley, providing the perfect opportunity to reflect on the legendary Macnab experience.
