Keeping the Promise of Clean and Safe Neighborhoods

Nov. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- East Hollywood, California 11/9/2013 - Keeping the promise to keep our community clean and safe, Immigrants Charitable Foundation sponsored the monthly Neighborhood Clean Up. It is coordinated in partnership with Los Angeles City Council Member Mitch O’Farrell’s office, the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, and the youthful Hollywood Police Activities League.

Immigrants Charitable Foundation volunteers and the staff, rolled up their sleeves and brushed the streets of East Hollywood. The clean-up efforts were focused along 900 Block of Mariposa, between Romaine Ave and Marathon Avenue. Additionally, neighbors walked down from buildings and pitched in along with community volunteers to remove brush, old furniture and sweep the street sidewalks.

Immigrants Charitable Foundation’s Board of Directors, Staff, and benefactors are honored to engage the community to care for the very basic elements that guide the principles of civic participation. Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell, that represents Council District 13, welcomed everyone and highlighted civic engagement as the homegrown tool for a better future. He thanked all of the volunteers and said that, “It is evident that people care for their community, therefore I see you guys woke up on Saturday, before 9am to clean up your community.”

Immigrants Charitable Foundation prides itself in revitalizing the core foundation of the promised neighborhoods; basic services must be demanded by all and through all means in coordinating the clean-up and instilling sense of civic pride that all Angelenos appreciate. It is the ultimate goal of Immigrants Charitable Foundation and its members to continue on the promise of a better tomorrow through collective grassroots community building efforts.
