Follow on Google News | Dr. Kenzik Offering Patients a Full Mouth Restoration in One DayBy: Kenzik Dental 386-672-9440 rkenzik@aol.com Ormond Beach, Fla. – Dr. Raymond Kenzik is now performing a new one-day surgery technique, offering patients a full mouth restoration in significantly less time than traditional surgery. The One Day Surgery Technique (ODST) is the modern solution for missing teeth, using a full dental bridge. Unlike traditional methods, this full dental appliance is not removable, and is supported by only four to six special Dental implants. With fewer implants needed, overall treatment time is reduced. The unique ODST solution also ensures greater stability in the bone, reducing the need for bone graft surgery to increase bone volume. The traditional approach to restoring a full arch of teeth typically involves bone grafts, six or more implants, and as many as 18 months of treatment. That meant a patient would often be without any teeth, or endured ill-fitting temporary dentures for more than a year. “This new procedure is the least invasive to accomplish a complete implant placement and gives the patient the least amount of difficulty, “said Dr. Kenzik. “The greatest benefit following the procedure is that a patient’s quality of life is significantly improved and he or she can right away begin enjoying their favorite foods again,” he added. After the (ODST) surgery, a patient’s teeth will look and feel like natural teeth and patients are able to resume a normal life immediately. Additionally, the implants are brushed much like natural teeth and studies indicate patients enjoy a 90-95% chewing ability. After the extractions and implant placement, the bridge will be sitting on implants only, instead of soft tissue. The gum will be completely closed up after surgery with no socket exposed, avoiding complications such as a dry socket. Most patients do not take any pain medication after this procedure. The patient is lightly sedated for the surgery, which lasts several hours. The new teeth are fitted and adjusted the same day as the surgery, even when extractions are necessary.
