The Board of Trustees of BCHS is governed by 24 community representatives. Volpe will join the Board for a three-year term, helping to strategize the events and direction of BCHS and the museums that it operates. In addition to his involvement with the Board of Trustees, Volpe is a member of the Advancement Council of Philadelphia University School of Design and Engineering (SDE). Volpe has corporate and private practice experience in all aspects of intellectual property rights and counsels clients in an array of technologies. His practice is concentrated on licensing and inter parte matters, including litigation in initial and appellate stages, and working with administrative agencies such as the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Canadian Patent Office and the International Trade Commission. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal, Third and Fourth Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and Eastern District of Michigan. Volpe earned his J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, and his B.S. in textile engineering from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now Philadelphia University). Volpe speaks frequently on IP topics and has authored multiple intellectual property articles for trade organizations and legal publications.
