By: IZABEL LAM NEW YORK I created Opus The Octopus ............. OPUS THE OCTOPUS loves music - https://www.youtube.com/ OPUS THE OCTOPUS Coral and Tropical Fish - https://www.youtube.com/ OPUS THE OCTOPUS Nudibranchs The Flamingo Dancers - https://www.youtube.com/ OPUS THE OCTOPUS Shining Sea Stars - https://www.youtube.com/ OPUS THE OCTOPUS his friends The Jelly Fish - http://youtu.be/ He was visited by many pianists at the Visitors Center at Central Park, New York and had a grand old time ! Here he is with ANTHONY TOMMASINI, the New York Times Chief Classical Music Critic, giving a lesson to future pianists. https://www.nytimes.com/ "The weather was sunny and clear, a perfect June day. On the 65th Street Transverse in Central Park, just outside the Dairy, stood a small upright painted by the scuba diving artist Izabel Lam, all aqua blue, with sea creatures, including Opus the Octopus." I am very pleased to report that Opus The Octopus has a new home - The Bronx Music Heritage Centern (BMHC), founded by The Women's Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco). The Center celebrates the rich history and creative spirit that defines Bronx music, where Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Parker, Tito Puente, Machito, the Chantals, and others launched their careers. Opus is ecstatic to have the opportunity to be instrumental in playing a part in the nurturing of a future music star. He joins me to send hopes that the New Year will bring good health, good fortune, joy and delight to all. HAPPY HOLIDAYS !
