Laura Michelle's New Single Scores With Lady Footlocker

ATLANTA - Nov. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Singer, model, and actress, Laura Michelle a native of New Orleans continues to soar with the announcement that her single “NeverBe” can be heard playing in Lady Foot Locker stores throughout Florida.

Having grown up listening to music from her parents’ favorite artists such as Smokie Robinson, The Temptations, and Aretha Franklin, to her present day inspirations like, Toni Braxton, Christina Aguilera, it’s no surprise that Laura Michelle’s latest release is an up-tempo song about a love gone wrong.

“Never Be,” an R&B infused single, tells the story of a young woman who is head over heels for the man in her life. The song begins with Laura Michelle’s smooth vocals telling listeners of, ‘the first time I looked into his eyes, I knew it was love,’ with her upbeat music video mirroring scenes of the young couple laughing on date nights and cuddling in the park. Then the song takes an unexpected twist as you hear Laura Michelle explain that the man of her dreams tells her he is in love with someone else.

“It was a love lost, because he lost out,” said Laura Michelle during a recent interview with 107 Jamz, as she discussed the inspiration behind the song. “He told me he was in love with me, we spent time together, and then he said, ‘Oh, I’m in love with somebody else,’”

Not the words that any woman or man, would want to hear after investing their time, heart, and soul into building a life with someone. Nonetheless, this resilient songwriter channeled what could have been a traumatic experience into the inspiration and ‘survivor’ like anthem for anyone who’s has ever been in a similar situation.

It should be no surprise that overcoming is a part of this Atlanta-transplant’s DNA, as Laura Michelle was one of the nearly 378,000 displaced residents as a result of Hurricane Katrina. But even tragedy couldn’t stop Laura Michelle from doing what she loves as an entertainer, who recorded her first song at the age of 14-years old.

“You can’t sit and sulk over something, it just is what it is,” Laura Michelle explained during her interview. “You just move on with your life and you have to know that you’re number one.”
