Stephen B. Steward Announces Call For Entries For Talent Competition

PASADENA, Calif. - Dec. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Stephen B. Steward, festival co-founder, and long time Altadena residents, Leroy and Anna Toliver, founders of LOV Olive Branches, CDC announced an open call for talent in Pasadena for the SBS Youth Talent Competition.  Talent video submissions are now being accepted through January 24, 2014 online: www.stephenbsteward.com/competition.

“We want to help aspiring students to get unprecedented exposure and, in the process, raise money,” said Stephen B. Steward, who’s heading up the event with LOV Olive Branches, CDC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  SBS Talent Competition is a contest that gives up-and-coming performers a chance to take their act to the big stage at the SBS Youth Music Festival.  Students across the U.S. between the ages of 10 – 17 are encouraged to submit a video of their talent to sing, dance, act and or play a musical instrument.

Contestant hopefuls will vie the public coveted vote.  The voting window will be open between January 25, 2014 – February 26, 2014.  Celebrity Judges will select their top five finalists who will perform at the SBS Youth Music Festival, Saturday, April 12, 2014. Celebrity Judges include actor, producer, director, Obba Babatunde and pianist, composer, Kevin Toney.  The criteria for judging entries will include originality, stage presence, vocals, performance quality, musicianship and overall likeability.  The Grand Prize Winner of SBS Talent Competition will receive a $1,000 Scholarship.

The contest winners will be announced on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the conclusion of the SBS Youth Music Festival.  The festival will be held at the historic landmark, Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  For more information about the Music Festival visit www.stephenbsteward.com.
