The New River Auto Mall is Holding a Blood Drive for The Blood Alliance on December 11

Dec. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- The New River Auto Mall has served many drivers by offering exceptional vehicles from an impressive range of automakers, but more importantly, they also have a legacy of contributing to communities throughout the Lowcountry. Their latest initiative is a blood drive on December 11 (http://www.hiltonheadhyundai.com/events/the-blood-alliance-blood-drive/) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., which will be held at Hilton Head Hyundai in conjunction with La Isla magazine and The Blood Alliance.

This is a local event with a local benefit: all of the blood donated will be used at medical centers in the area, so people can participate knowing that their blood will make a difference to fellow members of the community. "It's really important to us that the blood stays here in our community to help local people in need, especially during the holidays," said Joe Umbriano, Executive General Manager of Hilton Head Hyundai. "We're happy to be able to host The Blood Alliance again, and we know it's going to be a successful drive."

This event is just the latest initiative by the New River Auto Mall to benefit the community — they’ve consistently demonstrated their commitment to people in the area, both on the road and off. Like so many community-enrichment projects, the Blood Drive requires the involvement of area residents.

Warner Peacock, President & CEO of New River Auto Mall, voiced his confidence in the community, saying, "We're proud to do a blood drive for The Blood Alliance,” and adding, “We are happy to provide a site for such a worthwhile cause, and we know that our employees and people in the community will step up to donate."

Providing safe blood products to more than 40 hospitals and medical facilities in 10 counties across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, The Blood Alliance is the sole provider of blood to Beaufort County and affiliated South Carolina Hospitals.

The Blood Alliance bus will be parked at Hilton Head Hyundai from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, and two people will be able to sign up every fifteen minutes. All participants will receive free hot dogs and hamburgers, and the first 25 people who donate will receive a pair of tickets to a Sand Gnats baseball game.
