iWave Systems Technologies' i.MX6 Expertise

Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- iWave Systems Technologies, an Embedded Systems firm, has proven to be one of the key i.MX6 Solutions’ Designers by providing various i.MX6 based SOMs, Development Platforms, Single Board Computers and Learning Platforms for its customers in several domains like Industrial, Medical, Educational, Defence and Automotive.

iWave has also, in recent times, designed a Single Board Computer around Freescale Semiconductor’s i.MX 6 Solo / Dual Lite processor based on the ARM® Cortex™-A9 architecture. Pico-ITX is the industry standard form-factor for Single Board Computers (SBCs) measuring just 100mm x 72mm. Different Board Support Packages are available to create applications ranging from Windows Embedded to Linux and Android OS.

System on Modules: iWave developed two SOMs based on Freescale's i.MX6 Quad/Dual/Dual Lite/Solo ARM® Cortex A9 core CPU @1GHz, that includes single, dual, and quad-core families, namely iW-RainboW-G15M-Q7 and iW-RainboW-G15M-MXM (http://www.iwavesystems.com/product/development-platform/...) (Quad and Dual) with the form factors Qseven and MXM respectively. Both the SOMs are supported with different operating systems likes Linux, Windows Embedded Compact 7 and Android. Only, the version of operating systems may vary for Qseven and MXM.

The Qseven SOM has many target applications out of which some are Automotive IVI, Video & Navigation, Advanced HMI, Medical devices, Industrial Handheld and SoC computing The MXM SOM has the compatibility with i.MX53 MXM SOM & easy migration from i.MX53 series to i.MX6 series and the integration is made easy with on-board standard interfaces.

Development Platforms: Based on the SOMs, iWave has designed the Development Platforms namely iW-RainboW-G15D (http://www.iwavesystems.com/product/development-platform/...)-Q7 and iW-RainboW-G15D-MXM (http://www.iwavesystems.com/product/development-platform/i-mx6-mxm-development-kit/i-mx6x-mxm-development-kit.html). The i.MX6 Qseven Development Board incorporates Qseven SOM and compatible with AM389x Qseven Module, i.MX51 Qseven Module, Atom Qseven Module. The Qseven Development Board is optionally provided with four display interfaces through two LVDS displaying different content independently. Additionally, it is fan less and low power solution.

Coming to i.MX6 MXM Development Board, it is a multipurpose platform powered by automotive grade i.MX6x MXM SOM which is based on Freescale’s i.MX6 Series 1GHz multimedia focused processor. With this development platform, Quad, Dual, Solo core pin compatible options are also possible.

i.MX6 based Pico ITX Advanced Learning Platform: iWave made a firm attempt of strengthening its contributions in the Educational Field by the introduction of i.MX6 based Advanced Learning Platform (http://www.iwavesystems.com/pico-itx-educational-kit)for the students. As a result, iWave came up with a versatile and well equipped peripheral daughter board which can be plugged to the iWave’s i.MX6 Pico ITX SBC. This peripheral daughter board provides the extension to the i.MX6 Pico ITX board to evaluate several new display, sensor, communication & IO interfaces.
